“When words fail, music speaks.”

Music has always been an integral part of my life for as long as I can remember, from early childhood memories of listening to classical music with my dad, toddler singing classes, learning to love piano with a teacher whose passion for music was contagious, discovering how to sightread music and sing harmony in a nurturing to church choir environment, to taking my skills to the next level in university, and my recent Master of Music degree at UOttawa. Looking back, I perceive the deep impression music has made on my life and wish to share these gifts and find ways to pass on what I’ve been given.

My current musical involvements include piano performing in solo and collaborative settings, teaching piano and music theory to students of all ages and levels, choral singing and conducting, such as for the Cantiamo Choirs of Ottawa Training Choir, leading music at St. Porphyrios Orthodox Church, and running Gloria Deo Music Camp for kids!

My life commitment and vision for sharing music and its beauty with others is aptly summed up by J. S. Bach’s timeless words: “The chief and final end of all music ought to be none other than the glory of God and the refreshment of the soul.”

In other words, in whatever setting I find myself, I want to facilitate musical experiences that draw students, singers, and audiences into a discovery of the beauty, transcendence, and joy of music, and encourage them to make it part of their lives!
