Musical excellence through compassion and humour!

Student-led learning is the cornerstone of my teaching philosophy.  Regardless of age, every student has the potential to embrace music for a lifetime when they are met with compassion and an open-minded, experienced teacher.

That is where my passion lies...

music for life.

My teaching experiences over the past thirty years have given me the ability to meet any student of any age or skill level exactly where they are ... and then expand that knowledge to build a comprehensive foundation in music which will serve as a building block in a lifetime of musical development.

I had the opportunity to study with incredibly talented music education professors at Messiah University in Pennsylvania.  That superb education prepared me for instrumental and vocal instruction from Kindergarten to Grade 12.  Throughout the last 30 years, I have honed my teaching skills by working with a broad range of students both in age and skill level:  from 3 to 78 years old (from novice to advanced musicians).  Teaching a multitude of instruments gives me the ability to offer my students consistency in their music education even if they choose to explore different instruments.

Music brings joy to our lives when we are given the opportunity to explore it.  That exploration comes in many forms:  the school music program, local community choirs, jamming with friends, playing at Open Mic nights, community theatre, as well as private instruction.  I am here to support each and every one of these exploration opportunities with compassion and humour while never compromising high quality musical training.

MY WORLD IS FULL OF MUSIC

I teach.  I perform.  I support community music education.

In truth, my real goal is to use each of these avenues to connect people with music so that they too can feel

the powerful impact of a life filled with the joy of music!
