Nawfel Djari is a Canadian classical musician, composer, and educator whose work bridges tradition, improvisation, and contemporary expression. A violist by training, he has performed internationally across Europe and Canada, with appearances in cities such as Leipzig, Prague, Berlin, Montreal, and Ottawa. His musical voice is shaped by a deep engagement with both classical repertoire and jazz, having also worked extensively as a pianist in solo and collaborative settings.

Nawfel holds a Bachelor and Master of Music in viola performance and is Suzuki-trained, with Royal Conservatory of Music teaching certification. He is also pursuing advanced academic work, combining his musical background with studies in psychology and motivation theory. His interdisciplinary focus reflects a broader interest in how people learn, create, and connect through art.

As an educator, Nawfel has taught violin, viola, piano, and music theory, guiding students toward technical mastery while fostering confidence and artistic individuality. His students have gone on to win competitions, complete formal examinations, and perform with orchestras across Ottawa and Montreal. "If you love what you do, anyone can play fast!"

Beyond performance and teaching, Nawfel is the founder of the Djari Trio and an active chamber and symphonic composer and songwriter. His creative output spans orchestral writing, chamber music, and genre-blending projects that draw from country, jazz, and rock traditions. His work often explores philosophical and existential themes, reflecting a deep engagement with questions of identity, society, and spirituality.

In addition to music, Nawfel is a writer and poet, developing long-form narrative works that combine introspection, abstraction, and storytelling. His artistic voice—whether in music or literature—is marked by a search for meaning, a willingness to confront complexity, and a commitment to authenticity. He has written 3 novels, 4 books of poetry, and over 150 compositions including his latest album, "train long gone".
